Cambridge University Library has renewed its subscription to DIGITALIA Hispánica for the second year running. DIGITALIA is an aggregator of Spanish-language e-books from Spain, the Caribbean and Latin America. The platform provides access to over 10,700 ebooks and 2,550 ejournal issues, many of them unique to Digitalia. It offers access across multiple file formats, including PDF, HTML Flash, and HTML. See our previous blog post with instructions on access here.

This year, a new feature will allow users to download ebooks using Adobe DRM. To activate this feature, you will need to create a personal account with DIGITALIA. You may do so by clicking on the Your Account tab in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Further instructions are available from the Help Center tab. Continue reading

Spanish e-content at Cambridge

Last November, Cambridge University Library started a one-year subscription to a database of e-content in Spanish. We have been monitoring usage since, but we’re now seeking input from users. To this end, we’ve developed an online survey targeting students, scholars and librarians. Ideally, we’re looking for responses from those who have used the database, but we would also like to hear from likely users. Completing the survey takes approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

Your input will help us secure an ongoing subscription to the database. It will also help us assess what material Cambridge users are interested in and it will facilitate purchase of e-books or e-journals in perpetuity based on demand.

We are asking you to help by completing the survey below. The deadline for contributions is Friday the 21st of February 2014. If you have any questions about this survey or the database, please don’t hesitate to contact me at hispanic@cam.ac.uk. Your feedback is important to us.
